Twin Folk Art Mermaid Painting by Dee Sprague

I was just remembering how much fun it was to paint BIG!!!! This painting is double mermaid I did a few years ago on a old wooden pool table. The painting went to a Vermont family. I wonder if they ever managed to hang it on the wall??? It was kind of heavy. I am getting ready for the Ithaca farmers market this weekend and pondering the idea of painting or having a print made to fit the six foot old barn door I found this week. it will look great- but will it fir in the car????

The Wildflower Goddess

The Wild Flower Goddess painting took me most of the summer to complete. I was influenced by the events that surrounded me this summer like the abundance of wildflowers that grow here in the finger lakes during the summer and corn harvesting time. The painting features a vibrant sky full of roses, a distant corn field and an African American woman engulfed in a bed of wild flowers. Chicory, queen annes laces and sweet clover and a few balck-eyed-susans stand out in this summertime painting.
The original painting is up for sale on Ebay starting at $1800 or Best Offer. The first few canvas prints are now available on my Etsy site. www.mermaidmessenger.Etsy.com
